Getting started
What do we need to run it?
A Windows 10 or 11 computer in your school office. You do not need a server, and you do not need internet for daily work.
How do we try it?
Request a free trial. We send you a trial code and the download link, and help you set up. The trial runs for 15 days.
Can we bring in our existing student list?
Yes. Fill in an Excel sheet from our template and import it. The software shows any mistakes before it saves anything, and it takes a backup first so you can undo the import.
Does it work in Gujarati and Hindi?
Yes. Screens and printouts such as ID cards, report cards and certificates can be in English, ગુજરાતી or हिन्दी.
Can we change the principal's signature or the school stamp later?
Yes. Open School Profile in the app, upload the new image and save. It works offline and needs nothing from us.
Internet and your subscription
Do we need internet?
Not for daily work. About once a week the software contacts our server for a few seconds to confirm your subscription.
What if our internet is down?
The software keeps working for 7 days after its last successful check. After that it asks you to connect once, and it opens again as soon as it does. If your school has no internet at all, call us and we can give you a code that keeps it running.
What does the software send to you?
Your licence code, a coded identifier of the computer, the software version and the time. Never student, staff, fee or exam records. Details.
Can we move it to a new computer?
Yes. Restore your latest backup on the new computer, then activate with the same licence code. Moves are approved automatically up to twice a year. If you need more, call us.
AI helpers
What can the AI do?
It drafts exam questions from a chapter and topic, and writes report card remarks from a student's marks and attendance. A teacher checks every result before it is saved or printed. AI is part of the Offline + AI plan.
Who makes the AI key, and does it cost money?
Your school creates its own free key with the school's Google account at Google AI Studio. It takes about two minutes and we help during setup. Google's free tier is enough for normal school use. If you ever go beyond it, any charge is between your school and Google, never through us.
Do we need internet for AI?
Only at the moment you press an AI button. Everything else keeps working without internet.
What is sent to Google?
For questions: class, subject, chapter, topic, question type, difficulty, marks and language. For remarks: percentage, best and weakest subject, attendance percentage, tone and language. The student's name is added on your computer after Google replies. Names, admission numbers, phone numbers, addresses, photos, fees and marks lists are never sent; the software blocks any request that contains them.
Do you see our AI requests or our key?
No. The request goes directly from your computer to Google with your school's key. Our server never receives the key or what is sent.
Does Google keep what is sent?
On Google's free tier, Google may use what is sent to improve its products. That is why only the anonymous details above are ever sent. Google's own terms apply to your key.
Your records
Where is our data?
On your school's computer only. We never receive it and we cannot see it.
How do backups work?
You choose a folder, and a pen drive if you have one. The software saves a backup automatically and you can restore it on any computer. Keep a copy somewhere other than the school computer.
Who can see salary and fees?
Salary, restore and other private areas ask for a PIN. There are no separate user accounts: whoever uses the office computer uses the software.
Can parents or teachers log in?
No. Schooldarshi is for the school office. It does not have a parent app or a teacher login.
Price and renewal
What does it cost?
Please call or message us for the current price. There is no limit on students, staff or classes.
Is there a charge per student?
No.
What happens if we do not renew?
You get 15 more days when everything keeps working. After that the software stops opening your school's data until you renew, but you can always download a full backup. We never delete your records.
How do we renew?
Pay us and we update your date. Your software picks it up the next time it checks. There is nothing to reinstall and no new code to type.
